Configure devices by using Configuration Manager (Industry 8.1)

7/8/2014

Learn how to capture the configuration from your Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry (Industry 8.1) reference device and deploy it by using the Lockdown Baseline Tool (LBT).

You can configure a reference device for Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry (Industry 8.1) and use the new Lockdown Baseline Tool (LBT) to capture the configuration information. You can then import the configuration baseline into System Center Configuration Manager and deploy it to your devices.

Prerequisites

You configured a reference device to fit your needs.

To configure devices

  1. Use the LBT to import the features into System Center Configuration Manager, a remote management suite. For more information, see Capture lockdown and branding features.

  2. Deploy the configuration baseline to your devices. For more information, see How to Deploy Configuration Baselines in Configuration Manager on TechNet.

The Windows PowerShell scripts run automatically and apply the lockdown and branding settings to the other devices.

Next Steps

Optionally, you can monitor the result of the deployment. For more information, see How to Monitor for Compliance Settings in Configuration Manager.
