Community: Connecting with Other LightSwitch Developers

Microsoft and LightSwitch provide many opportunities for you to correspond with other developers. By reading the LightSwitch Developer Center, forums, and blogs, you can learn how other developers are using LightSwitch to create desktop and Web applications. You can also post questions, answers, and ideas. This document lists some of the resources that are available.

LightSwitch Developer Center

The LightSwitch Developer Center on the MSDN website is the home page for LightSwitch developers. It contains links to learning resources such as “How Do I?” and Channel 9 videos, LightSwitch-related blogs and more, and it is updated on a regular basis.

You can also keep up with your favorite programming language by visiting the MSDN Developer Centers.

LightSwitch Forums

The LightSwitch Forums on the MSDN website provide places to interact with other LightSwitch developers. Ask and answer technical questions and participate in discussions about LightSwitch.

LightSwitch Team Blog

Get the latest news and insights about the product, direct from members of the LightSwitch product team, on the LightSwitch Team Blog.

Code Samples

Find sample applications from the LightSwitch product team on the Visual Studio LightSwitch Samples page in the MSDN Code Gallery. You can also search the Code Gallery for sample code submitted by other developers, and you can share your own code.

Extensibility Toolkit

The Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 Extensibility Toolkit provides templates for creating LightSwitch extensions.

Note

You must have Visual Studio 2010 SP1 (Professional, Premium, or Ultimate edition) in order to create extensions.
