Using Products and Technologies Together—Microsoft Executives Deliver Cloud and Developer Insights at TechEd

About This Video

IT Pros attending  TechEd 2010 next week in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA have a new opportunity to learn from Microsoft senior executives on Monday, June 6. Through a choice of Foundational Sessions they will learn how to best use the company’s products and technologies to achieve return on investment now, and going forward.  Executives are delivering their insights in three Foundational Sessions running in parallel, directly after the keynote presentation. In these sesssions, presenters may share roadmaps for certain product groupings, may provide product-specific news, and may drill-down on points made in the keynote.

As a fellow TechEd attendee, I know that charting a personal schedule at the event means making tradeoffs among a great variety of topics. In fact, there are 1018 sessions this year, in 22 tracks. If you are travelling to TechEd, attending one of these sessions could help you decide which breakout sessions will best meet your needs. Be sure to consider FDN-2, geared to IT professionals.

Here are the three, new, foundational sessions at TechEd.

FDN-1, Foundational Session: From Concept to Reality with Developer Platform and Tools

·         Speaker: Jason Zander

FDN-3, Foundation Session: Extending Business Productivity to the Cloud

Let me introduce the background of Garth Fort who is presenting the IT professional session I recommend, FDN-2. Garth Fort is General Manager of System Center and Virtualization for Microsoft. In a career at the company spanning 15 years, he has worked in Redmond with a variety of product groups, with focus in Office, Visual Studio and the Server business. He spent three years in Japan leading the Server and Tools business, and more recently was General Manager, Business Operations and Marketing for Microsoft in the Greater China Region.
