Discusses Microsoft IT's deployment of Windows Server 2008 R2, a release that builds on the Windows Server 2008 foundation. Windows Server 2008 R2 includes technology improvements aimed at giving client computers running Windows 7 a reliable and flexible network productivity feature set. Included features are DirectAccess, Microsoft Branch Cache, and BitLocker ToGo, as well AD DS policies that integrate with Terminal Services’ new RAD and VDI desktop and application virtualization features allowing administrators to deploy virtualized apps and desktops based on policy.
