Infrastructure to deliver applications to many devices

About This Video

Understand the way Microsoft thinks about delivering applications across various devices and the intelligent infrastructure required to delivery on those mechanisms to enable flexible workstyles for employees. We discuss some of the advantages and disadvantages of each of these application scenarios:

  • Device optimized experiences – native client applications optimized for the devices such as Office 2010, Lync 2010, Office on Windows Phone, or One Note for the iPad/iPhone.
  • Cloud delivery / Web applications – the application exisits entirely in the cloud and can be run from a web browser.  An example would be Office 365 web applications.
  • Virtual delivery – the application or desktop would be streamed through various means such as through Microsoft and Citrix remote desktop / session virtualization, remote app, or virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).
