Explore Distribution Shares

Windows System Image Manager (Windows SIM) enables you to navigate through the folders and the subfolders of a single distribution share, and move files between multiple distribution share folders. You can also use Windows SIM to open multiple distribution share folder windows, and copy files and folders between the folders.

To explore an individual distribution share

  1. Select the top node in the Distribution Share pane, and then right-click to select Explore Distribution Share.
    The Distribution Share folder opens.
  2. Click a subfolder to view its contents.
    Drag or copy and paste files to the distribution share folder.

To explore multiple distribution shares simultaneously

  1. Select the top node of the open distribution share in the Distribution Share pane, and then right-click to select Select Distribution Share.
    The Distribution Share folder opens.
  2. Right-click in the Distribution Share pane, and then choose Select Distribution Share.
    The Select Distribution share window opens.
  3. Select another distribution share folder, and then click Open.
    The Distribution Share folder opens in the Distribution Share pane.
  4. Select the top node of the open distribution share in the Distribution Share pane, and then right-click to select Explore Distribution Share.
    The Distribution Share folder opens.
  5. Arrange the open distribution share windows on your desktop, and then drag the selected files among the open windows, or cut, copy, and paste files to the distribution share folders.
  6. (Optional) Repeat this procedure to open multiple distribution share folders.
