Determine Whether the Router Is Receiving Routes

To troubleshoot routing problems, you should examine the routing table to determine if the router is receiving routes. If the Protocol column shows anything other than Local, the router is receiving routes.

Membership in the local Administrators group, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at Local and Domain Default Groups (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477).

To determine whether the router is receiving routes

  1. Open Routing and Remote Access.

  2. In the console tree, right-click Static Routes.

    Where?

    • Routing and Remote Access/server name/[IPv4 or IPv6]/Static Routes

  3. Click Show IP routing table.
