Interpreting dashboard data

The dashboard charts present information about the security status of your organization.

It is recommended that you become familiar with each element in the charts. Knowing the meaning of the chart data enables you to make the best use of Client Security.

Consider the following:

  • The number of computers reporting critical issues is based on the preceding 24 hours.

  • The change in computers reporting issues is a comparison of the number of issues during the preceding 24 hours to the number of issues in the 24 hours that ended at midnight.

For example, assume that the number of computers reporting issues at the previous midnight was 10. If at 11:00 (11:00 A.M.) the number of computers reporting issues is 11, the change in computers reporting issues is 10 percent and the adjacent arrow indicates the increase. If at 13:00 (1:00 P.M.) the number of computers reporting issues has dropped to eight, the change in computers reporting issues is 20 percent and the adjacent arrow indicates the decrease.

The following table describes the elements in the charts and indicates what is shown for each element when no data is available, such as when you first deploy Client Security.

Reporting Critical Issues

Title for charting data regarding computers reporting critical issues, which includes malware detection events and missing security updates. Also, this element provides a link to the Computer Summary report.

This title does not change.

Change in the percentage reporting critical issues

Percentage difference between the number of computers reporting critical issues now and the number reporting issues at the previous midnight. Also, an arrow indicates whether the change is an increase or decrease.

Displays a dash.

Computers reporting critical issues

Number of computers reporting one or more critical issues in the past 24 hours.

Displays zero.

Percent reporting critical issues

Percentage of computers reporting one or more critical issues in the past 24 hours.

Displays zero percent.

Reporting No Issues

Title for charting data regarding computers reporting no issues and no critical vulnerabilities.

This title does not change.

Change in the percentage reporting no issues

Percentage difference between the number of computers reporting no issues now and the number reporting no issues at the previous midnight. Also, an arrow indicates whether the change is an increase or decrease.

Displays a dash.

Computers reporting no issues

Number of computers that, in the past 24 hours, have:

  • Reported to the collection server

  • Not raised alerts

  • Not reported malware

  • Not reported critical vulnerabilities

  • Not reported missing security updates

  • No policy deployment issues

Displays the total number of managed computers.

Percent reporting no issues

Percentage of computers reporting no issues in the past 24 hours.

Displays 100 percent.

Not Reporting

Title for charting data regarding computers not reporting in the past 24 hours. Also, this element provides a link to the Connectivity Summary report.

This title does not change.

Change in the percentage not reporting

Percentage difference between the number of computers not reporting and the number not reporting at the previous midnight. Also, an arrow indicates whether the change is an increase or decrease.

Displays a dash.

Computers not reporting

Number of computers that reported in the past 30 days but have not reported in the past 24 hours.

Displays zero.

Percent not reporting

The percentage of computers that reported in the past 30 days but have not reported in the past 24 hours.

Displays zero percent.

Computers Per Issue

Lists issues and the number of computers reporting them. Issues correspond to alerts. The items shown are as follows:

  • Malware detected—This item links to the Computers Having Malware Issues report.

  • Vulnerability detected—This item counts only critical vulnerabilities and links to the Computers Having Critical Vulnerability Issues report.

  • Out-of-date policy detected—This item links to the Computers Having Policy Deployment Issues report.

  • Alerts detected—This item links to the Computers Having Alerts Issues report.

All items display zero.

14-Day History

Shows bars summarizing the charting data for each of the preceding 14 days. Each bar has one, two, or three colored portions. The colored portions correspond to the following data:

  • Gray portion—Percentage of computers not reporting

  • Orange portion—Percentage of computers reporting critical issues

  • Blue portion—Percentage of computers reporting no issues

When there is no data, this area displays a message that no historical data is available. When no data is available on a particular day, the bar for that day indicates that no data is available.
