Export or import a saved query

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To export or import a saved query

  1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • To export a saved query, in the Saved Queries folder, or a subfolder of Saved Queries, right-click the query you want to export, and then click Export Query Definition. Name the file, and then click Open.

    • To import a saved query, right-click Saved Queries, or a subfolder of Saved Queries, and then click Import Query Definition. Browse to the saved query, click it, and then click Open.

Notes

  • Performing this task does not require you to have administrative credentials. Therefore, as a security best practice, consider performing this task as a user without administrative credentials.

  • To open Active Directory Users and Computers, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Active Directory Users and Computers.
