Click Product information management > Setup > Attributes > Attribute types.

Use this form to define the attribute types and default values that you can select when you define attributes for products and categories in the Attributes form. You must define attribute types before you define an attribute. By using attributes, you can add more details about products, such as color, size, dimensions, and so on.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Tabs

Tab	Description
General	Enter the name and data type for the attribute type. You can also indicate whether a defined list of values or a value range is required for the attribute type.
Values	Enter a list of values for the attribute. You can select one of the values to display as the default value in the Attributes form when you define an attribute.
Range	Enter a range of values. You can select a value within the range that you define, as the default value in the Attributes form when you define a DateTime, Decimal, or Integer attribute type.

Buttons

Button	Description
New	Define a new attribute type.
Delete	Delete a selected attribute type.
Add	Add a new value to the fixed list for a selected attribute. You can perform this action only if the Fixed list check box is selected for the attribute type.
Remove	Remove a value from the fixed list that is defined for a selected attribute. You can perform this action only if the Fixed list check box is selected for the attribute type.
Move up	Move the selected value in the list up in the display order.
Move down	Move the selected value in the list down in the display order.
Translate	Open the Text translation form, where you can define the text values in other languages.

Fields

Field	Description
Name	Enter a name for the attribute type.
Type	Select the data type to use for the values that you enter for the attribute. Select from the following values: Currency DateTime Decimal Integer Text Boolean
Fixed list	Select this check box to define a list of values for Text attribute types. You can select one of the values to display as the default value for attributes that are defined in the Attributes form.
Value range	Select this check box to set a range of values for Currency, DateTime, Decimal, and Integer attribute types. The range that you define is used when you enter a default value for attributes that you define in the Attributes form.
Unit of measure	Select a unit of measure for Decimal or Integer attribute types.
From	Enter the starting value for the range.
To	Enter the ending value for the range.
