To add a hard a drive to the storage pool, chose a drive as follows:

  • Ensure that the hard drive has a minimum storage capacity of of 60 GB, or has 60 GB of unallocated space if it is a system drive.

  • When choosing between internal or external hard drives, considering adding an internal drive, as it has less probability of getting disconnected.

  • Between choosing fewer hard drives with large storage capacity, or multiple hard drives with smaller storage capacity, consider adding lesser number of hard drives with large storage capacities.
