Install the Network Monitor driver

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To install the Network Monitor driver

  1. Open Network Connections.

  2. In Network Connections, click Local Area Connection, click the File menu, and then click Properties.

  3. In the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, click Install.

  4. In the Select Network Component Type dialog box, click Protocol, and then click Add.

  5. In the Select Network Protocol dialog box, click Network Monitor Driver, and then click OK.

  6. If you are prompted for additional files, insert the installation CD for your operating system, or type a path to the location of the files on the network.

Notes

  • To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the local computer, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. If the computer is joined to a domain, members of the Domain Admins group might be able to perform this procedure.

  • To open Network Connections, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Network Connections.

  • Network Monitor Driver does not appear in the Select Network Protocol dialog box if the Network Monitor driver is already installed.
