Stop the Task Scheduler service

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To stop the Task Scheduler service

  1. Open Task Scheduler.

  2. On the Advanced menu, click Stop Using Task Scheduler.

Notes

  • To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators or Server Operators group, or have been delegated the appropriate authority, on the local computer. As a security best practice, consider using Run as to perform this procedure. For more information, see Default local groups, Default groups, and Using Run as.

  • To open Task Scheduler, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Scheduled Tasks.

  • Tasks will not run at their scheduled times until you restart the Task Scheduler service.
