The Windows PowerShell console is installed by default on Windows Server 2008 R2. But did you know Windows PowerShell offers a graphical scripting environment—that is not installed by default.

You can install the graphical scripting environment by completing the following steps:

1. Click the Server Manager button on the Quick Launch toolbar. Alternatively, click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Server Manager.
2. In Server Manager, select the Features node, and then click Add Features.
3. In the Windows Features dialog box, scroll down, and then select Windows PowerShell Integrated Scripting Environment (ISE).
4. Click Next, and then click Install.
