Satellite Licenses

Applies To: Opalis 6.3

A satellite license is a license that enables policies to interact with remote computers. The objects that require a satellite license to run usually include a Computer field. Computer fields enable you to add both local and remote computer names.

Satellite licenses are consumed as soon as a policy that requires them is triggered. Opalis Integration Server will assign satellite licenses to policies until there are no more left to assign. If there are no more satellite licenses available, the policy will not run until you perform the following procedure to make the satellite licenses available or until you purchase additional licenses.

See Microsoft System Center Opalis (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=200971) for information about purchasing licenses.

To make satellite licenses available to policies

  1. Click Start, click All Programs, click Opalis Software, click Opalis Integration Server, and then click License Manager. The License Manager dialog box opens.

  2. To view the total number of satellite licenses, click the Licenses tab.

  3. To display all satellite licenses that are currently in use, click the Satellites tab.

  4. Click the satellite license that you want to make available to other policies and then click Remove. The satellite license is now available for other policies.
