Import a License

Licenses provide information to the management server about the number of users, action servers, and satellites that you can run. A satellite license is a license that enables policies to interact with remote computers. To make satellite licenses available to policies after you have installed the Opalis Software license, see Satellite Licenses.

To install a license

  1. Copy the Opalis Software license file to a location of your choice on the management server computer. The license file cannot be installed from a UNC path (any path of type \\computer\folder\<...>\), only from a local path on the management server computer (<drive>:\folder\<…>).

  2. Click Import a License in step 3 of the Install Opalis Integration Server screen. The License Manager screen appears.

  3. Click Import. The Import License dialog box appears.

  4. In the Key box, type or paste the Opalis Software key.

  5. In the License file box, type the path of the license (.lic) file, or click the ellipsis (...) button to browse for it.

  6. Click OK. The License Manager prompt appears.

  7. Click OK. When the license has been successfully installed, click Close. The Install Opalis Integration Server screen appears.

    The Service User Account must have the required permissions to the database in order to install the License. If you receive an error message, "Cannot connect to the management server" see the Database Configuration section to assign the correct database permissions.

  8. Do not do Step 4. Click Exit.

    Run the Foundation Objects installer, and then install the client as described in Install the Foundation Objects and the Client.
