Change the Telephony Service Logon Account

Applies To: Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012

The service account is the user account under which the Telephony service runs.

Membership in the local Administrators group, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at Local and Domain Default Groups (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477).

To change the Telephony service logon account

  1. Open the Telephony Snap-in.

  2. In the console tree, click the server you want to manage.

  3. On the Action menu, click Properties.

  4. On the Setup tab, in Account Information, click Choose User.

  5. In the Select User dialog box, click Locations, and then click the domain where the account is located.

  6. In Enter the object name to select, type the name of the account, and then click OK.

Additional considerations

If the user's domain is not listed in the Locations dialog box, try specifying the domain in Enter the object name to select by using the following format:

domain\username
