This topic applies to features in the Inventory management module. It does not apply to features in the Warehouse management module.

Click Inventory management > Setup > Inventory equipment > Pallets.

Use this form to set up pallets or to view information on individual pallets.

Note

If you leave the Pallet ID field blank when you create new pallets, and you set up a number sequence for the Pallet ID, the pallet is automatically given identification when the record is saved.

Description

General

View warehouse and location information about the selected pallet.

RFID

Select a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) device and an RFID server to be associated with the pallet.

Buttons

Button

Description

On-hand

View on-hand inventory by inventory dimensions.

Transactions

View the inventory transactions for the item or the lot.

Pallet transport handling

View information on pallet transports, such as the pallet transport status.

Functions

Open a menu that contains the following items:

  • Move pallet – Change the warehouse and location information for the pallet.

    Tip

    The on-hand inventory on the pallet is moved together with the pallet.

  • Create input transport – Find a bulk type location that the pallet can be moved to.

  • Quantity adjustment – Activates online counting.

  • Trace – Trace inventory dimensions throughout the application. You can also view related receipts and issues for a transaction in a tree structure.

Print

Open a menu that contains the following items:

  • Pallet label – Print pallet labels.

  • On-hand – Print a pallet list.

Read tag

Read tag information to the device that is selected in the Device name field on the RFID FastTab.

Write tag

Write tag information to the device that is selected in the Device name field on the RFID FastTab.

Fields

Field

Description

Pallet ID

Unique identification of the pallet.

Note

  • If you leave the field blank when creating new pallets, and you set up a number sequence for the pallet identification (ID), the pallet will be given an ID automatically when the record is saved.

  • If the length of the field set up for the number sequence is exactly 17 and permits only numbers, Microsoft Dynamics AX assumes that you are using pallet IDs according to the SSCC-18 standard. Therefore, it will automatically calculate and attach a check number as character number 18.

Pallet type

Specifies the type of pallet.

Tag status

Indicates whether a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag has been associated with the line.

Warehouse

Specifies the warehouse where the pallet is located.

Location

Specifies the location of the pallet.

Height

Define the height of the pallet, including items.

Microsoft Dynamics AX uses this height when searching for a location for the pallet.

Server ID

Select the RFID server for the pallet.

Device name

Select the RFID device for the pallet.
