Create minimum inventory journal lines (class form)

Click Master planning > Journals > Safety stock. Click Create new to open the Item coverage journal lines form. Click Journal lines, and then select Create lines to open the Create journal lines for proposed minimum inventory levels form.

Use this form to create journal lines and related statistics for the following:

  • Items and item dimensions for which an inventory issue transaction exists during the period that you specify.

  • Items and item dimensions that may not have an inventory issue transaction scheduled for the period you specify, but do have an existing item coverage record.

Fields

Field

Description

Journal

The journal number as it appears in the journal table.

From date and To date

Select a starting date and an ending date to define the period in which to analyze historical inventory issue transactions for the items and item dimensions.

By default, the From date field is set to the first day of the month, and the To date field is set to the last day of the month, so that statistics are made for periods of a whole month.

Calculate std. deviation

Select this check box if you want the system to calculate the historical standard deviation for inventory issue transactions.

Note

There must be at least three months between the From date and To date values to make this calculation.

Select

Specify filter criteria for selecting the items for which you want to create journal lines. The criteria that you select appear in the dimmed fields in the Items field group.
