Bill of exchange (form)

Click Cash and bank management > Common > Bill of exchange.

Use this form to create, manage, and view bills of exchange for one or more bank accounts.

Note

You can also open this form from the Bank accounts form or the Bank accounts list page. However, only the bills of exchange for the selected bank account are displayed.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Delete bill of exchange

Delete bills of exchange that have a status of Created.

Create bills of exchange for bank accounts that use a layout format of Fixed for bills of exchange.

Note

In the Bill of exchange layout form, you can enter the layout format that is used for bills of exchange for each bank account.

Bill of exchange journal

View a list of journal lines that have been posted for bills of exchange.

Fields

Field

Description

Bank account

The name of the bank account.

Date

The transaction date.

Bill ID

The unique identifier for the bill of exchange.

Bill of exchange number

The number of the printed bill of exchange.

Status

The status of the bill of exchange:

  • Created – The bill of exchange has been created. To create bills of exchange that use the Fixed numbering method, click Create bill of exchange, and then enter information for the bills of exchange.

  • Canceled – The bill of exchange was canceled after it was posted.

  • Posted – The bill of exchange was posted.

  • Blank – The electronic bill of exchange is not used when the bill of exchange is printed.

  • Printed – The bill of exchange was printed.

Recipient

The customer account or vendor account that corresponds to the recipient of the bill of exchange.

Currency

The currency that was used for the bill of exchange.

Amount

The amount that the bill of exchange was drawn for.

Voucher

The voucher number that the bill of exchange is attached to in the ledger.

Created date and time

The date and time that the bill of exchange was created.

Created by

The user who created the bill of exchange.

Modified date and time

The last date and time that the bill of exchange was modified.

Modified by

The last user who modified the bill of exchange.
