Reclassification (form)

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Click Fixed assets > Periodic > Reclassification.

Use this form to reclassify a fixed asset group or fixed asset number from a specific date, or to change the number sequence code of a fixed asset group. For example, you might reclassify all of the assets in the Fixed assets in construction group to the Fixed assets group.

If you do not reclassify a fixed asset or a fixed asset group on the last day of a depreciation period, you must create an adjustment. You might also have to create an adjustment if a value model for the original fixed asset or fixed asset group has a provision type.

Reclassification information is displayed on reports, such as the Fixed asset statement. However, before you print the Fixed asset statement, you must include the reclassified fixed asset in the definition of the fixed asset lines in the Fixed asset statement rows form.

When you print the Fixed asset statement after reclassifying a fixed asset, a Reclassification this year column displays the identifier of the fixed asset from earlier in that fiscal year and the historical acquisition cost.
