Click Cash and bank management > Common > Bank accounts. On the Action Pane, click the Setup tab, and then click Promissory note.

Use this form to set up the layout of promissory notes for the bank account that you selected on the Bank accounts list page. You must set up the promissory note number format before you create and print the first promissory note for the bank account.

Tabs

Tab	Description
General	Enter information about the promissory note number method, promissory note format, and test-printout format.
Setup	Select the bank and legal entity information that will be displayed on the promissory notes.
Signature	Enter information about the printing of signatures and the amount limits for signatures.

Buttons

Button	Description
Company logo	Open the Image form, in which you can add, change, or remove the image file that is printed on the promissory note as the company logo.
Signature	Open the Signature form, in which you can add, change, or remove the image files that are printed on the promissory note as signatures.

Fields

Field	Description
Promissory note number method	Select the method to use to generate promissory note numbers: Fixed – Use this method when you have preprinted promissory notes. Before you can use promissory notes for payment, you must create promissory notes by clicking Promissory note numbers on the Bank accounts list page. Free – Use this method when you do not have preprinted promissory notes. Promissory note numbers will be proposed automatically when you use promissory notes for payment.
Promissory note form	Select the promissory note form type that is to be printed. For example, select Mexican to use the promissory note format that is required for Mexico.
Paper length	The length of the promissory note. This includes the slip.
Paper length unit	Select the unit for the specification of the size or position.
Promissory note start position	The position at which the actual promissory note is printed. This is calculated from the top of the form to the position at which the promissory note starts.
Unit for the start position of the promissory note	Select the unit for the specification of the size or position.
Number of slip copies	The number of slip copies on the promissory note that are printed on the same form.
Prefix	Enter the text to be printed in front of the amount on the promissory note. Example Enter USD in this field to print USD 1,000.00 on the promissory note.
Ruler	Select the ruler unit of the report: None – Do not display a ruler on test prints. cm – Display the ruler in centimeters. Inches – Display the ruler in inches.
Bank account	Select this check box to print the bank account number on the promissory note. Define the bank account number in the Bank account number field in the Bank accounts form.
Bank name	Select this check box to print the bank's name on the promissory note. Define the bank's name in the Name field in the Bank accounts form.
Bank city	Select this check box to print the city in which the bank is located.
Bank number	Select this check box to print the bank's registration number on the promissory note. Define the bank's registration number in the Routing number field in the Bank accounts form.
Company name	Select this check box to print the name of the legal entity on the promissory note. Define the name of the legal entity in the Legal entities form.
Company logo	Select this check box to print the company logo on the promissory note. The company logo is the file that is specified in the Image form.
Transaction date	Select this check box to print the transaction date.
Due date	Select this check box to print the due date for the promissory note.
Paper format	Select the paper format for the current report. This field is available only if you selected French in the Promissory note form field on the General tab.
Promissory note format number	Select this check box to use a predefined format for promissory notes. This field is available only if you selected Spanish in the Promissory note form field on the General tab.
Print first signature	Select this check box to print a signature on the promissory note. The signature is the file that is specified in the Signature form.
First amount limit	Enter the highest amount for which the signature can be stamped.
Print second signature	Select this check box to print a signature on the promissory note. The signature is the file that is specified in the Signature form.
Second amount limit	Enter the highest amount for which the signature can be stamped.
