Enterprise Portal parameters (form)

Click System administration > Setup > Enterprise Portal > Enterprise Portal parameters.
Use this form to specify the default behavior for various aspects of Enterprise Portal for Microsoft Dynamics AX.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Search |
Specify where queries that are called from the Microsoft Dynamics AX 32-bit client are published for Enterprise Search. If you want Microsoft Dynamics AX clients to use a different search service, you must specify the URL on this tab. The field on this tab does not apply to the Enterprise Portal search service. You must configure the URL for the Enterprise Portal search service by using SharePoint Central Administration. |
General |
Specify the default behavior of list pages in Enterprise Portal. |
User provisioning |
Specify the default templates and authentication protocols for various kinds of users. If you do not set the options on this tab, external users cannot access customer or vendor portals. |
Documents |
Specify how documents are displayed in Enterprise Portal. For each document category, select the modules that display the documents and the kinds of external users who can open the documents. |
Number sequences |
Specify number sequences. Number sequences determine how voucher numbers, invoice numbers, and journal numbers are automatically assigned throughout the Microsoft Dynamics AX system. You set up the codes for number sequences in the Number sequences form. |

Search server url |
Specify where queries that are called from the Microsoft Dynamics AX 32-bit client are published for Enterprise Search. You must configure the URL for the Enterprise Portal search service by using SharePoint Central Administration. |
Number of rows to display in list pages |
Specify the number of rows that are displayed in all Enterprise Portal lists. You may want to change the value in this field if users have large computer monitors and are able to view more rows in lists. The maximum value is 100. If the value is 0, all records are displayed. We recommend that you not set the value to 0 if your system has many records. After you change the value in this field, open Enterprise Portal, and then click Refresh AOD to clear the cache. |
User alias notification template |
Select the template to use to send a confirmation email message about a user's alias. You create templates in the E-mail templates form. |
Temporary password notification template |
Select the template to use to send a confirmation email message about a user's temporary password. You create templates in the E-mail templates form. |
Vendor self-service portal website |
The Enterprise Portal site that vendors can access. |
Vendor authentication method |
The authentication protocol that is used when vendors access the Enterprise Portal site. For information about Active Directory Federated Services, Forms-based authentication, or Windows Live authentication, see Deploy an Enterprise Portal site that uses forms-based authentication. |
E-mail template for vendor user request |
Select the template to use to send a confirmation email message about a vendor's request to sign up. You create templates in the E-mail templates form. |
Vendor claims provider name |
The claims provider. The claims provider is the authentication provider that you specified in SharePoint Foundation or SharePoint Server when you configured flexible authentication. For more information, see Deploy an Enterprise Portal site that uses forms-based authentication. |
Customer self-service portal website |
The Enterprise Portal site that customers can access. |
Customer authentication method |
The authentication protocol that is used when customers access the Enterprise Portal site. For information about Active Directory Federated Services, Forms-based authentication, or Windows Live authentication, see Deploy an Enterprise Portal site that uses forms-based authentication. |
E-mail template for customer user request |
Select the template to use to send a confirmation email message about a customer's request to sign up. You create templates in the E-mail templates form. |
Customer claims provider name |

Number of days |
Enter the number of days that documents are included in the list of latest documents. |
Document categories |
Select a document category. |
Online customer |
Select this check box to make documents from the selected category available to customers who have access to Enterprise Portal. |
Online vendor |
Select this check box to make documents from the selected category available to vendors who have access to Enterprise Portal. |
Reference |
Select the type of reference. The following options are available:

Number sequence code |
Select the number sequence to associate with the selected reference. The code for the number sequence must be defined in the Number sequences form. The following number sequences are available:
