Estimate projects (form)

Depending on your version of the program, do one of the following:

In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2: Click Project management and accounting > Common > Projects > All projects. Double-click a Fixed-price or Investment project. In the Projects form, on the Revenue recognition FastTab, right-click the Estimate project ID field, and then click View details on the shortcut menu.
Otherwise: Click Project management and accounting > Common > Projects > All projects. On the Action Pane, click Estimate project to create a new Estimate project, or click Edit to change an existing Estimate project.

Use this form to define which projects should be categorized as Estimate projects and associate projects with Estimate projects.

Only Fixed-price projects and Investment projects can be defined as Estimate projects.

Note

Estimates are calculated in the accounting currency that is defined in the Ledger form. (Click General ledger > Setup > Ledger.)

Tasks that use this form

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Tab	Description
General	Enter or view details about individual Estimate projects.
Projects	Associate projects with the Estimate project or remove projects from the Estimate project. The projects that are listed in the Remaining projects pane are in the same project group as the Estimate project.

Button	Description
Edit	Modify the selections for an Estimate project.
Delete	Delete an Estimate project.
Estimate project	Create an Estimate project.
Estimates	Open the Estimate form to process revenue recognition for Fixed-price and Investment projects that are associated with an Estimate project.
Projects	View a list of all projects that are associated with the selected Estimate project.
Attachments	View documents that are already attached to a selected record, or attach documents to the selected record.

Fields	Description
Estimate project ID	Select the identification number for the Estimate project.
Description	Enter a brief description of the Estimate project.
Eliminated	This check box is selected automatically when the estimate is eliminated.
Cost template	Select a cost template. Cost templates are mandatory for Estimate projects. Cost templates are maintained in the Cost template form.
Period code	Select the period code that is used to determine the intervals at which estimates are posted.
Project group	The project group for the project.
Selected projects	View projects that are associated with the Estimate project or move projects that are not associated with the Estimate project to the Remaining projects pane.
Remaining projects	View projects that are not associated with the Estimate project or add projects to the Selected projects pane to associate them with the Estimate project.
Project ID	The identification number for the project.
Project name	The name of the project.
Project stage	The status of the current project
