Journal lines, Inventory project (form)

Click Project management and accounting > Journals > Item. Select a journal, and then click Lines.

Use this form to register lines in an item consumption journal that details the number of items that you have used with regard to a project. For example, you can register item consumption with regard to a Time and material type of project.

Open the Enter account financial dimensions form, where you can select the financial dimensions for the account. For more information, see Enter account financial dimensions (form).

Click Delete journal lines to delete all the lines of the journal in a batch process.

Inventory

Open a menu that contains the following items:

  • Transactions – View the inventory transactions for the item, which are represented as receipt or issue transactions.

  • On-hand – View the on-hand inventory for the current item, by product dimensions.

  • Lot – Query receipt and issue transactions for the same lot number.

  • Trace – Track product dimensions.

  • Reservation – Reserve inventory that is on hand.

  • Marking – Mark lots for specific orders.

  • Registration – Register inventory receipts.

  • Pick – Pick inventory issues.

  • Output orders – Create output orders.

  • Dimensions display – Specify which inventory dimensions to display on the Overview tab.

Fields

Field

Description

Project date

The date for the inventory transfer, which is the date that the adjustment is physically made. When you select the Post check box, the date of the inventory transaction for the item is updated as the date of the physical transaction and the financial transaction. You can change the date until the line is posted and changed for the inventory transaction.

Project ID

The identifier of the project that the item transaction is created for.

Item number

The item number for which the transfer will be made. Item numbers are created when you create products.

Configuration

Select an item configuration to specify an item with specific attributes.

Size

The size of the item.

Color

The color of the item.

Warehouse

Enter the warehouse in which you will store the items.

Quantity

The quantity of the item.

Line property

The line property, which defines financial attributes of the item transaction. For more information, see Set up a line property.

Cost price

The cost price per unit of the item.

Cost amount

The total cost of the item quantity, multiplied by the cost price.

Activity

Enter the purpose of the activity.

Journal

The identifier of the journal.

Line number

The identifier of the line.

Voucher

The voucher number that was specified for the general ledger. This is the voucher number that is assigned when the transaction is posted. You can use the voucher number to trace the posting basis.

Price unit

The number of units that the price is specified in. The price unit is derived from the price unit that is specified on the Sell FastTab in the Released product details form.

Charges on cost

The charges on the cost, which are retrieved from the charges for the item.

Charges cannot be changed manually in the journal, because items are always received at the same value at which they were issued at transfer.

Lot ID

The batch number with which the line is associated.

Dimension No.

The identifier of the dimensions for the item.

Return lot ID

Enter the lot numbers for items that are being returned.

Batch number

Enter the batch number dimension. If you select Edit lines and Explode lines in the upper section of the Shipment or Receive form, you can modify the batch number for the transfer order line.

Location

The location of the items inside a warehouse. If you select Edit lines and Explode lines in the upper section of the Shipment or Receive form, you can modify the location number for the transfer order line.

Serial number

The serial number dimension. If you select Edit lines and Explode lines in the upper section of the Shipment or Receive form, you can modify the serial number for the transfer order line.
