Service management parameters (form)

Click Service management > Setup > Service management parameters.
You can use this form to create and maintain parameter settings for the Service management module.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

General |
View and change the default calendar and agreement group settings for service agreements. You can also select whether a service agreement is to be attached to a service order. |

Journals |
View default journal names where service order lines with the status Finished can be posted.
To specify journal names in the Default journal names field group, you must first set up the journal names in Journal names. |

Activities |
Define if follow-up activities should be created automatically for service orders in the Activities form.
Set up default values for the automatically created activities based on certain specific actions. Note This feature is only available if the Sales Force Automation license is enabled. |

Dispatching |
Set up options for the viewing of dispatched service orders. |
|
Number sequences |
Set up number sequences. You can only automate the process for the creation of service orders if you set up the number sequence for service orders. |

Calendar |
Select the default calendar to use for service. If no calendar is specified, service orders are created without regard for days of closure or other limits on working time. |
Service agreement group |
Select a default service agreement group to use when you create a service agreement. |
Project group |
Select the group number that is used for reference. |
Service agreement activity type |
Select the service agreement activity type that will be used as the default. |
Allow without service agreement |
Select to allow for service orders that are not attached to a service agreement. Note A service order does not have to be attached to a service agreement, although it can be, but a service order must always be attached to a project. |
Allow one item on multiple service objects |
Select to allow the service object table to contain more than one object that has the same item and item dimension details, limited to configuration, size, and color. |
Reason code on canceling |
Select to require that a reason code is selected when a service level agreement is canceled. |
Reason code on exceeding time |
Select to require that a reason code is selected when the time limit specified for a service request in a service level agreement is exceeded. |
Hour |
Specify the journal name for the journal that is created when you post service order lines of the type Hour. |
Expense |
Specify the journal name for the journal that is created when you post service order lines of the type Expense. |
Item |
Specify the journal name for the journal that is created when you post service order lines of the type Item. |
Fee |
Specify the journal name for the journal that is created when you post service order lines of the type Fee. |
Create activity for service order |
Select whether an activity for the service order will be created on the Activities tab. Tip This also lets you the dispatch board to view service order lines of the type Hour. |
Service order activity type |
Select the default activity type. |
Service order category |
Select the service order categories that you want to assign the activity to. |
Service order purpose |
Enter the default purpose of the follow-up service order activity. |
Activity generation stage |
Select the service stage when activities will be generated for the service order lines of the type Hour. |
Days before |
Enter the default number of days before the current date that should be loaded into the dispatch tool. |
Days after |
Enter the default number of days after the current date that should be loaded into the dispatch tool. |
Low |
Select the color for low priority service activities. |
Normal |
Select the color for typical priority service order activities. |
High |
Select the color for high priority service order activities. |
Reference |
The predefined references that number sequence codes can be assigned to in Service management. |
Number sequence code |
Select a number sequence to associate with the reference. Click Organization administration > Common > Number sequences > Number sequences. |
