Run price simulation (form)
Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012
Click Sales and marketing > Common > Sales quotations > All quotations. Select a sales quotation from the list page and click the Price simulation button on the Quotation tab in the action Pane.
Use this form to create and run a price simulation for all of a quotation or for a single line in a quotation.
Navigating the form
The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

The contribution margin of the transaction. |
New contribution ratio |
Enter the new contribution ratio that will calculate the new margin. |
Quotation |
The selected quotation number. |
Account |
The prospect’s account number that is attached to the quotation. |
Customer account |
The customer account number that is attached to the quotation. |
Simulation date |
The date that the price simulation was created. |
Currency |
The currency that the price simulation and quotation are calculated in. |
Total sales value |
The total sales value for the selected quotation. |
Total cost value |
The total cost value for the selected quotation. |
Total line discount |
The total of the line discounts for the selected quotation. |
Total discount |
The total discount for the selected quotation. |
Amount in transaction currency |
The total amount in your company’s accounting currency. |
Total discount percentage |
Enter a new discount percentage for the selected quotation. |
New margin |
The new contribution margin in your company’s accounting currency. |
New contribution ratio |
The new contribution ratio in your company’s accounting currency. |
New discount percentage |
Enter a new discount percentage for the price simulation for the selected quotation. |
New margin |
Enter a new contribution margin or view the new contribution margin after you have entered a new contribution ratio for the price simulation for the selected quotation. |

Enter a new contribution ratio for the price simulation for the selected quotation. |
Total sales value |
The total sales value that is calculated from the price simulation for the selected quotation. |
Total cost value |
The total cost value that is calculated from the price simulation for the selected quotation. |
Total line discount |
The total line value that is calculated from the price simulation for the selected quotation. |
Total discount |
The total discount that is calculated from the price simulation for the selected quotation. |
Amount in transaction currency |
The total amount in your company currency from the price simulation for the selected quotation. |
Total discount percentage |
The total discount percentage in your company’s accounting currency from the price simulation for the selected quotation. |

View the new contribution margin in your company’s accounting currency from the price simulation for the selected quotation. |
