How to Manually Import a CRL

This topic explains how to manually import a certificate revocation list (CRL).

Before You Begin

Either at the console or through a terminal session, log on to the recipient's Exchange server using an account that is a member of the local Administrators group.

Procedure

To manually import a CRL

  1. Download the CRL from the CRL distribution point specified in the digital certificate.

  2. Right-click the .cer or .crl file, click Install Certificate or Install CRL, and then click Next.

  3. When the Certificate Import Wizard opens, click Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate.

CRL processing is enabled when you enable the user's Exchange server to access CRLs that are accessed from CRL distribution points through LDAP or HTTP, or when you manually import the CRLs into the user's Exchange server.
