This topic helps you troubleshoot an unsuccessful RPC over HTTP connection. This article explains how to verify that the World Wide Web Publishing Service is running on your Exchange Server 2003 computer.

Procedure

To verify that the World Wide Web Publishing Service is running on Exchange Server 2003

  1. Type the following command at a command prompt, and then press ENTER:

    net start w3svc

  2. Verify that you can resolve the name of the back-end Exchange Server 2003 computer from the RPC proxy server.

    Note

Do this to make sure that the RPC proxy server can communicate with the back-end Exchange Server 2003 computers by using RPC communications.
