How to Automatically Check for Updated Catalogs

System Center Updates Publisher can be configured to automatically check for newer versions of software updates catalogs that have been added to the import list. The catalogs that have been modified since they were last imported are displayed and can be imported from the Updates Publisher start page in the Catalog Updates pane. The import list contains information about the software updates catalogs, such as source location, publisher, and so on. For more information about adding catalogs to import lists, see How to Add Catalogs to the Import List.

Use the following procedure to configure Updates Publisher to automatically check the catalogs in the import list that have been modified since they were last imported.

To configure Updates Publisher to automatically check catalogs for newer versions

  1. Right-click any console tree node in the Updates Publisher console, and then click Settings to open the Settings dialog box.

  2. On the Import List tab, select Automatically check for updates to my catalogs on startup.
