Backing Up the Virtual Machine Manager Database
The Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) database is a SQL Server database that contains all VMM configuration information.
It is important that you regularly backup the VMM database as part of a comprehensive backup plan for protecting all VMM data, including data on hosts, virtual machines, and library servers.

Use the following procedure to back up the VMM database.
To back up the Virtual Machine Manager database
In Administration view, click Back up Virtual Machine Manager in the Actions pane.
Select a backup destination folder that is not a root directory and that SQL Server can access.
