This topic covers methods for backing up and restoring Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 forms and form templates that are stored in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. InfoPath Forms Services can integrate with Office SharePoint Server 2007 to provide:

  • Storage and easy access to form templates.

  • Storage of completed forms.

  • Interaction with other Web applications within SharePoint Products and Technologies.

InfoPath administrator-approved form templates cannot be backed up in the same manner as standard InfoPath form templates and completed forms. Administrator-approved form templates use metadata that is stored in the SharePoint configuration database. Because it is impractical to back up the SharePoint configuration database to protect InfoPath administrator-approved form templates, be sure to save copies of any administrator-approved form template files (.xsn) in another location. To restore the administrator-approved form templates, you must redeploy them.
