The RSA Data Security Conference is traditionally the highlight of the year for the security community, and this year will be no exception. Microsoft is pleased to sponsor the conference again this year, and will host a number of activities and events at the conference. Here are just a few.

Craig Mundie, Microsoft's Chief Technical Officer for Strategies and Policies, will deliver a keynote address at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 20. He'll discuss Microsoft's vision for the security of our products and services. He'll also detail the technologies that will make Microsoft's products – present and future – more secure, and the vision for security features that will make Microsoft products easier and more flexible to use securely.

Throughout the week, Microsoft employees will lead breakout sessions on a variety of subjects. This is a great opportunity to hear from the experts on important security topics. Topics include:

  • Deploying a multi-technology DMZ solution with multiple lines of defense

  • Problems presented to applications with deployments of ambiguous X.509 certificate chains

  • Building secure applications on Windows Server 2003

  • Secure Windows Initiative - lessons learned

  • Using Microsoft's CAPICOM technology to create cryptographically enabled web applications

Finally, Microsoft will host a booth at the product exposition, where we'll demonstrate a variety of current and future Microsoft security technologies associated with Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, ISA Server, and the .Net Framework. In addition, we'll provide a series of technical briefings in the booth's theater, each discussing how to use a particular Microsoft security technology.
