Starting the FTP Service in IIS 7

Applies To: Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista

Just as the FTP service is not installed by default on IIS 7.0, the FTP service is not started by default when you install it on IIS 7.0. For this reason, you must start the FTP service after you have installed it. You may also have to start the FTP service if it was previously stopped or paused.

Warning

This topic applies only to Windows Vista® and Windows Server® 2008.
