View Nodes

Applies To: Windows HPC Server 2008

In HPC Cluster Manager, you can view cluster nodes in two ways: the List view displays node properties and metrics in rows and columns, and the Heat Map view displays node health metrics graphically.

The two views provide customizable, at-a-glance information to help you monitor your cluster. The node views also provide a starting point for identifying problem areas, drilling down into details, and performing actions on one or more nodes.

For information about using HPC Cluster Manager, see Overview of HPC Cluster Manager.

To view nodes

  1. In Node Management, in the Navigation Pane, click Nodes to see all nodes in the cluster.

Alternatively, in the Navigation Pane, click an item under By Group, By State, By Node Template, or By Health to see a subset of nodes in your cluster.

A list of nodes (List view) appears in the view pane.

  2. In the view pane, click Heat Map to switch to Heat Map view.

  3. Double-click a node to see detailed information about the node such as hardware, operating system properties, and current performance metrics.

Additional considerations

  • To open HPC Cluster Manager, click Start, point to All Programs, click Microsoft HPC Pack, and then click HPC Cluster Manager. If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Continue.
