Windows 2000 supports OS/2-based applications through the OS/2 subsystem. A thunking code was developed to translate the 16-bit OS/2 APIs to 32-bit APIs for the 32-bit processor. This section describes the thunking layer as well as other ways in which the OS/2 subsystem differs from native OS/2.
