Microsoft Dynamics Marketing is scheduled to be retired on May 15, 2018. After that date the service will no longer be available. Please plan accordingly. For details, see the blog post Microsoft Dynamics Marketing service will be discontinued, and learn what’s coming next.

The event dashboard displays all information related to each event including its description, expected attendance, dates, venue, brief, floor plans, financial information, sessions, shipments, equipment, collateral materials, speakers, and staff.

Go to Marketing Execution > Event Management > Events.

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing displays all active Events.

  1. Click New New button on the Events page.

  2. Enter the information.

The status provides work flow information about the event. Select a status from the pull-down menu. (Optional).

Enter a name for the Event.

Enter a code for the Event. Microsoft Dynamics Marketing defaults the code to a unique sequential ID. (Optional).

Select a venue from the pull-down menu. (Optional).

Enter the estimated or actual attendance of the event. (Optional).

    Select an event type. (Optional).

Select the company/client that this event is for from the pull-down menu. If a default company has been set, the default company will be selected.

    Division and Department

Select the division and/or department that this event is for from the pull-down menu. (Optional).

An event description enables you to describe an event more fully than with just a name. For example, a good event description might be, "Fall 2001 bicycle wheel catalog mailing to all trade show prospects." (Optional).

    Start Date and Time

Pick a date from the calendar.

    End Date and Time

Pick a date from the calendar.

    Exhibit Start Date and Time

Pick a date from the calendar.

    Exhibit End Date and Time

Pick a date from the calendar.

    Time Zone

Select the time zone the event occurs in. Microsoft Dynamics Marketing uses the time zone for calendar and scheduling purposes.

    Program and Campaign

Use these setting to associated your event with an existing program and/or campaign.

    Generate Leads or Interactions

Select this check box to allow the event to generate leads and interactions. If you select this check box, event registration and attendance will generate lead interactions. A new lead may also be generated, if required, according to the lead creation and scope settings established for the company this event is for (see also Company settings and configuration).

When a lead is available for the current contact and marketing context, all subsequent interactions will be recorded as lead interactions for that lead and additional leads won’t be created.

  3. Click Submit.

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing enables Administrators to setup User Defined Fields. More information: Configure user defined fields.

  1. Go to Settings > Administration > Languages.

  2. Click the Language, for example, English (United States). Three columns appear.

  3. In the first column, click the area that you’d like to add a UDF to, for example, Lead Management. This will filter the results.

  4. Type “user” in the Search bar and click Go.

Anything with the word User appears. User Defined fields typically end with User # (user and then its corresponding number)

  5. Replace the “Site Label” text with the desired name for the field.

  6. Click Save.

You can hide an enabled UDF. This will remove the field from the page but will retain the field data. Follow the exact same steps as described above except that you must replace the “Site Label” with the “Default Label” text. Then, click Save.
