Microsoft Dynamics Marketing provides powerful tools to help manage your inventory of available media assets (often called ad inventory):

  • Set up Assets quickly using templates and wizards to build your inventory.

  • Build inventory as far in the future as you want to.

  • Powerful search function enables users to find available assets.

  • Organize assets by type, market, channel, genre, section, issue, volume, date, location, type, or category.

  • Manage assets that have limited or unlimited availability.

  • Create and manage assets with sub-units such as coop ads in magazines.

  • Handle all ad types, including rotators (assets that can have multiple concurrent advertisements running at the same time).

  • Track booking history, usage by client, revenue, cost, and profitability for each asset.

  • Manage back orders: enable users to back order assets and create media as needed.

In Microsoft Dynamics Marketing media inventory consists of active media asset units, whether or not the unit is un-booked, fully-booked, or back-ordered.

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing's ad sales and inventory management features are included in the Enterprise Edition.

  1. In Assets & Media, click Asset Management.

  2. Click Asset Inventory.

  • Click any column heading to sort the list using in alphabetical order; click it again to sort the list in reverse alphabetical order.

  1. Click the Customize Columns button button to display the complete list of columns.

  2. Click the column you want to add.

  3. Repeat for each column.

  • Click and drag any column heading to move the column to its new location.

  • Type a word, phrase, or part of a word into the Search bar. Microsoft Dynamics Marketing displays all media plans that contain the word, phrase, or part of a word you entered. Type the shortest possible phrase to find the most items.

    Type a word, phrase, or part of a word into one or more of the Search fields above each column. Microsoft Dynamics Marketing displays all media plans that contain the word, phrase, or part of a word you entered in the field. If you enter information in two or more fields, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing searches for items that contain the word, phrase, or part of a word you entered in both fields.

  • Click the down triangle iconFilter button, enter a value in the search box, and then pick a filter (for example, starts with, ends with, or contains).

  • Click Clear to remove the filter. Microsoft Dynamics Marketing removes the filter and displays all items.

    - Or -

    Click the filter button Filter button and select No Filter.

  1. Click the New button button. If there are templates in the system, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing prompts you to select one. If you do not want to use a template, don’t select one.

  1. Click the New Booking button Edit Options button. If there are templates in the system, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing prompts you to select one. If you do not want to use a template, don’t select one.

  2. Type in the information. More information: View and create new media bookings

  • Click the Excel button button. Microsoft Dynamics Marketing sends the information to Excel.

  • Click the Print button button. Microsoft Dynamics Marketing opens a pop-up window that displays the information in the grid.

  • Click the Show All/Active Only button button. Microsoft Dynamics Marketing display the inactive items in the grid. The Show All/Active Only button toggles to Hide Inactive/Deleted button to indicate that inactive items are displayed.
