Create, convert, and print media sales orders

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing lets you prepare sales orders. Media sales orders are similar to regular media invoices but don't post to the general ledger.  

  1. Go to Assets & Media > Media Buying > Sales Orders.

  2. Choose the New  New button button.

    Dynamics Marketing opens the new Sales Orders page.

  3. Enter the information.




    Select a status for the sales order. More information: Create custom drop-down values and folders

    Bill To

    Select a contact.

    Ship To

    Select a contact.


    Select the Bill To company the sales order is for from the pull-down menu.

    PO #

    Enter the Purchase Order # from the client.

    Tax Rate

    Select the tax rate that applies to the sales order.


    Select the currency used in the sales order.


    Enter additional information by choosing the Memo Edit button button.

    Invoice Date

    Enter the date the invoice was prepared.

    Due Date

    Enter the Due Date for the sales order.


    Select the credit terms that apply from the pull-down menu.

    Prepared by

    Select a contact.

    Remit To

    Select a Remit To contact from the pull-down menu. The Remit To enables you to specify an alternate remittance contact/address.


    Select a Sales Rep contact from the pull-down menu.

  4. Choose Save.

  1. Select the sales orders you want to invoice by marking their check boxes Check box symbol.

  2. Choose the Invoice button.

  3. Choose OK.

  1. Choose the Email  Email button button.

    Dynamics Marketing displays the sales order ready to be sent via email.

  2. Choose Submit.

    Dynamics Marketing sends the sales order and makes a copy of the sales order in Notes.

  1. Choose the Print Print button button.

    Dynamics Marketing displays the sales order ready to print in a pop-up browser window.

  2. Choose the Print Print button button again.

    Dynamics Marketing opens a Print window so you can select the printer you want to use and other printing details. Dynamics Marketing also makes a copy of the sales order in Notes.
