Microsoft Dynamics Marketing is scheduled to be retired on May 15, 2018. After that date the service will no longer be available. Please plan accordingly. For details, see the blog post Microsoft Dynamics Marketing service will be discontinued, and learn what’s coming next.

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing enables users to manually verify spots or to use an intelligent auto match function.

To work with broadcast verification, you must have the Media Buyer user type and also have Edit/View Broadcast Verification privileges. More information: Work with user accounts and staff contacts

Auto match enables Microsoft Dynamics Marketing to match media order items and broadcast verification service (BVS) records. Auto match automatically matches unmatched media uses and BVS records. To use auto match:

  • Click the Auto Match button Mass Update button. The Auto Match button displays on the upper right-hand corner of the BVS grid.

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing attempts to match BVS records and corresponding media order items using the following rules:

  • The media outlet name on the BVS record must match the media outlet name on the media order item.

  • The BVS record’s date and time must fall within the media order item's start and end dates and times.

  • If the media order item has an Ad-Code/ISCII, it must match the Ad-Code/ISCII of the BVS record; if the media order item doesn’t have an Ad-Code/ISCII, it can be matched with any BVS record regardless of its Ad-Code/ISCII.

  • Microsoft Dynamics Marketing will only match media order items that aren’t already fully matched with BVS records.

  • If a match is found, the BVS record is linked to the media order item.

Once all of the BVS records have been processed, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing processes all of the media order items as follows:

  • If the quantity of BVSs equals 0, the media use is skipped.

  • If the quantity of BVSs equals the quantity of the media use, the traffic status of the item is updated to Verified.

  • If the quantity of BVSs does not equal the quantity of the media use, the traffic status is updated to BV In Process.

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing then processes all TV and radio orders with at least one verified media use:

  • If all of the media order items associated with a single media order are verified, the order’s status is set to Verified.

  • If all of the media order items associated with a single media order are not verified, the order’s status is left unchanged.

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing then updates the BVS dashboard to reflect the changes that have been made.

The Match button enables users to manually match BVS records and media order items. To match media order items and BVS records:

  1. Select one media order item and one or more BVS records by clicking their respective check boxes.

  2. Click the Match button in the upper right corner of the BVS grid.

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing does the following:

  • Links the BVS records with the media order item. Dates and times are disregarded.

  • Compares the quantity of matched BVS records for the media order item with the media order item’s quantity. If they are equal, the media order item's traffic status is set to Verified.

  • Checks if all of the media order items attached to the order have a status of Verified. If they do, the media order’s status is updated to Verified.

  • Updates the dashboard so that matched BVS records are removed from the top grid and displayed on the Order Item grid.

The Verify button enables users to manually verify media order items. To match media order items and BVS records:

  1. Select one or more media order items by clicking their respective check boxes.

  2. Click the Verify button Mark Completed button.
