Microsoft Dynamics Marketing is scheduled to be retired on May 15, 2018. After that date the service will no longer be available. Please plan accordingly. For details, see the blog post Microsoft Dynamics Marketing service will be discontinued, and learn what’s coming next.

Use Microsoft Dynamics Marketing's event registration functions to register contacts to attend events. With Microsoft Dynamics Marketing, you can set up the following:

  • Free or fee events

  • Wait listing

  • Automatic email confirmation

  • Single or multiple attendees per registration transaction

  • Group registration

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing provides two related functions—attendance and registration. They function as follows:

  1. Registration records participants’ intention to attend. The effect is similar to placing a reservation for a hotel, restaurant, or rental car. The individual registration options available here (fees, materials, banquets, accommodation options, etc.) will depend on how the event setup is defined in the system.

  2. Attendance records participants’ actual presence at an event.

An event can have multiple registration options. For example, an event could have:

  • Multiple sessions

  • A discount for early registration

  • Banquets

  • Optional events such as entertainment, field trips, etc.

  • Chargeable items such as proceedings CD-ROMs, printed materials, etc.

Each one of these items is a registration item. Each event can have an unlimited number of registration items.

  1. Open the Event's dashboard page.

  2. Choose the Registration Setup tab.

The Registration Setup tab lets you configure registration for an event.

The Registration Setup tab has two sub-tabs: the Items tab and the Languages tab.

  • Items tab: Displays all the items that are available via registration.

  • Languages tab: Enables you to enter descriptions of the event in multiple languages.

  1. Choose Home > Marketing Execution > Event Management > Events.

  2. Find the event you want to use, and open its dashboard page.

  3. Choose the Registration Setup tab.

  4. Choose the Items sub tab.

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing displays all active registration items.

  1. Choose the Languages tab.

  2. Choose the New button New button.

  3. Select the language from the pull-down menu. A selection is required.

  4. Enter the description in the selected language.

  5. Choose Submit.
