Microsoft Dynamics Marketing provides powerful built-in email functions so you can send email messages to contacts, and send them estimates, invoices, requests for quotes, purchase orders, and expenses. Whenever you send an email message to a contact, a copy of the email is attached to the item the email message is related to and the contact in Microsoft Dynamics Marketingto whom the email is being sent (if the email address is shown on the Contact dashboard).

You can also use email templates for quick and easy use.

Email Addresses

  • You can send an email message to anyone with a valid email address, by typing the email address in the 'To' field.

  • To send an email message to several people at the same time you can enter multiple email addresses separated by commas.

  • To CC or Carbon Copy addressees enter their email addresses into the CC field.

  • To blind copy addresses - they will receive the message but other people won’t see their email address in the message header they receive, enter the addresses in the BCC field.

If any of the email addresses entered match any of the email addresses of a Microsoft Dynamics Marketing contact, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing will automatically save a copy of the email message in that contact's notes.

Edit email text

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing provides a powerful HTML editor to enable you to format email messages.  You can use the formatting buttons on the top of the email message box to format your email.

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing has two functions related to email:

  • 'Personal' email functions let you send personal email messages.

  • Email marketing functions enable you to manage email marketing activities. More information: Email marketing

You can't receive email in Microsoft Dynamics Marketing because it doesn’t have an inbox. When you send email from Microsoft Dynamics Marketing, the 'from' email address that is sent is the primary email address on your contact record. More information: Site company

Choose Home > Projects > Emails > Emails.

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing displays the list of emails.

  1. Choose the New button.

    If you have created email templates, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing will prompt you to select one. Using templates is optional.

  2. Enter the information.

  3. Choose Send.

Creating an email message template is identical to creating an email message. To create an email message template:

  1. Choose the New button.

  2. Enter the information.

  3. Choose Submit.

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing provides a powerful HTML editor so you can format email messages.  Use the formatting buttons on the top of the email message box to format your email.

To send an email message:

  1. Choose the Email button.

  2. Enter the subject of the message and information in the email body.

  3. Choose Send.  

To send an attachment:

  1. Choose the Attachment button.

  2. Find the attachment(s) you want to send and select their check boxes.

  3. Choose the Add button.

  4. Choose the Close button.

    Microsoft Dynamics Marketing will send the files as attachments to the email message.

You can add an email signature to the bottom of each email message. To create a default email signature:

  1. Choose User Preferences.

  2. Enter the information you want to use as the signature.

  3. Choose Submit.

    When you send an email message, the information you added to your signature will be added to the bottom of the email message. You can change the signature for each message.

If you check the Copy to Self check box, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing will send a copy of the email message to the primary email address on your contact record. If your primary email address is blank, the Copy to Self check box will be grayed out and you won’t be able to check it.

  1. Choose User Preferences.

  2. Check the Copy to Selfcheck box if you want a copy of all the messages you send to also be sent to your email inbox.

  3. Choose Submit.

  • By default, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing sends email in HTML format. If you want to send a message in text format, uncheck the HTML check box.

  • Email Templates: To use an email template, select a template from the Template pull-down menu.Microsoft Dynamics Marketing applies the template to the message.

  • Internal Use Only: By default, email is Internal Use only - not visible to web portal users. If you want a message to be visible to web portal users, uncheck the Internal Use Only check box.
