View and create new booking items

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing provides powerful and easy to use Media Booking functions. You can quickly create and view your media booking items:

The Booking Items grid displays all the Booking Items included in a Booking.

  1. On the Booking page, click the New button. New button.

    Microsoft Dynamics Marketing opens the new item page.

  2. Enter the information:

Field

Description

General

Asset

Select the Asset you want to book. Required. More information: Manage assets

Unit

Select the Unit of the Asset you selected above that you want to book. Required. More information: Manage assets

Start/End Date and Time

By default Microsoft Dynamics Marketing sets the Start and End dates and times of the Booking Item to the Start and End dates and times of the Unit. You can change the dates as needed. Required.

Time Zone

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing displays the Time Zone the Start and End Times are in.

Rate Type

Select a rate type from the pull-down menu. Required. More information: Rate cards

Rate

Select the rate, if one is available. A selection is not required. More information: Rate cards

Account

Select the Billing Account to use. Required.

Description

Enter a description for the item. (Optional)

Backordered

A check box indicates that the item is backordered.

Taxable

Click the taxable check box to indicate that the item is taxable.

Quantity

Enter the quantity. (Optional)

Price

Enter the price. (Optional)

Commission/Discount

Enter any commission or discount to be deducted from the price. (Optional)

Details

Market

Select a market segment from the pull-down menu. (Optional)

Company

Select a company/client from the pull-down menu. Required.

Division

Select a division from the pull-down menu. (Optional)

Department

Select the department the item is for from the pull-down menu. Required.

Program

Select the program the item is for from the pull-down menu. Required.

Campaign

Select the campaign the item is for from the pull-down menu. Required.

Job

Select the job the item is for from the pull-down menu. Required.

Task

Select the task the item is for from the pull-down menu. Required.

Event

Select the event the item is for from the pull-down menu. Required.

Creative

Status

Select a status from the pull-down menu. (Optional). The status is used to track the status of the creative for the placement. More information: Create custom drop-down values and folders

Advertisement

Select an Advertisement from the pull-down menu. (Optional). More information: Manage advertisements

Due Date

Select a Due Date from the pull-down menu. (Optional). The due date is used to track the date the advertisement is due at the Media Outlet.

  1. Click the Brands tab to associate an item with one or more Brands.

  2. Click the Show All button Show All/Active Only button to display all the Brands available for the Company/Client.

  3. Click the check box for each Brand you want to select.

  4. Enter the allocation percent. The allocation percent enables you to pro-rate an item to each Brand. For example if the total price of an item was $100 and you allocate 50% of the price to Brand 1, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing will allocate $50 of revenue to Brand 1.

  1. Click the Channels tab to associate an item with one or more channels.

  2. Click the Show All buttonShow All/Active Only button to display all the channels available for the Company/Client.

  3. Click the check box for each channel you want to select.

  4. Enter the allocation percent. The allocation percent enables you to pro-rate an item to each channel. For example if the total price of an item was $100 and you allocate 50% of the price to Channel 1, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing will allocate $50 of revenue to Channel 1.

  1. Click the Components tab to associate an item with one or more components.

  2. Click the Show All buttonShow All/Active Only button to display all the components available for the Company/Client.

  3. Click the check box for each component you want to select.

  4. Enter the allocation percent. The allocation percent enables you to pro-rate an item to each component. For example if the total price of an item was $100 and you allocate 50% of the price to component 1, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing will allocate $50 of revenue to component 1.

  1. Click the Locations tab to associate an item with one or more locations.

  2. Click the Show All buttonShow All/Active Only button to display all the locations available for the Company/Client.

  3. Click the check box for each location you want to select.

  4. Enter the allocation percent. The allocation percent enables you to pro-rate an item to each channel. For example if the total price of an item was $100 and you allocate 50% of the price to location 1, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing will allocate $50 of revenue to location 1.

  1. Click the Products tab to associate an item with one or more Products/services.

  2. Click the Show All buttonShow All/Active Only button  to display all the Products/services available for the Company/Client.

  3. Click the check box for each Product/service you want to select.

  4. Enter the allocation percent. The allocation percent enables you to pro-rate an item to each channel. For example if the total price of an item was $100 and you allocate 50% of the price to Product/service 1, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing will allocate $50 of revenue to Product/service 1.

  1. Select the item(s) you want to copy by clicking on their check boxes Check box symbol.

  2. Click the Copy button Copy button.

  3. Click OK.

To delete item(s):

  1. Select the item(s) you want to delete by clicking on its check box Check box symbol.

  2. Click the Delete Delete button button .

    Microsoft Dynamics Marketing prompts you to confirm the deletion.

  3. Click OK.

    Microsoft Dynamics Marketing marks the item(s) deleted.
