Create, copy, and view event templates

Create event templates if you often hold similar events.

Choose Home > Marketing Execution > Event Templates > Templates.

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing displays a listing of all the Event Templates in the system where the status is not canceled or completed.

  1. Click the New button New button.

  2. Enter the information. More information: View events

  1. Select the Template you want to copy by clicking on its check box.

  2. Click the Copy button Copy button.

  3. Click OK.

  1. Select the Template you want to delete by clicking on its check box.

  2. Click the Delete button Delete button.

    Microsoft Dynamics Marketing prompts you to confirm the deletion.

  3. Click OK.

When you create an event template, you can include tasks in your template. Here are two tips:

  • If you always assign those tasks to the same person (for example, if Fernando Chinn is always the copywriter), assign the tasks to the contact record of the person who will do the task.

  • If you assign tasks to different people (for example, if you have 5 copywriters and they all write copy for events), create 'role' contact records for each role (that is, create a contact called 'copywriting', 'marketing manager,' 'proof reader,' or 'designer') and assign the tasks in the template to these 'role' contacts. When you use the template, you will reassign the tasks to the actual contacts that will do the work.

Click any column heading to sort the list using in alphabetical order; click it again to sort the list in reverse alphabetical order.

  1. Select what information you want to use as a filter by clicking on the Filter On pull-down menu.

    Microsoft Dynamics Marketing displays the filter categories that are available.

  2. Click the Value pull-down to choose the value that you want to filter on. Then press Enter or click Go to apply the filter.

    Microsoft Dynamics Marketing applies the filter and displays the information that matches.

Click Clear to remove the filter.
