Create new media invoice items

The media invoice item grid displays all the advertisements included in a media invoice.

  1. On the Media Invoice page, click NewNew button.

  2. Enter the information as follows

    Field

    Description

    Date

    Enter the item date. The item date is used in budgeting as the accrual date. (Required)

    Media

    Microsoft Dynamics Marketing displays the media outlet you are billing a client for.

    Rate Type

    Select a rate type from the pull-down menu. (Required)

    Rate

    Select the rate, if one is available. (Optional)

    Description

    Enter a description for the Item. (Optional)

    Taxable

    Select the taxable check box to indicate that the item is taxable.

    Quantity

    Enter the quantity. (Optional)

    Cost

    Enter the cost. (Optional)

    Commission/Discount

    Enter any commission or discount earned. (Optional)

    Details

    The Details section enables you to specify additional information about the invoice item.

    Market Segment

    Select a market segment from the pull-down menu. (Optional)

    Demographic Segment

    Select a demographic segment from the pull-down menu. (Optional)

    GRPs (Radio and TV only)

    Enter the gross rating points of the item. (Optional)

    Reach (Select media types only)

    Enter the reach (number of persons who see/hear/open/drive by the Item) of the item. (Optional)

    Reach Calculator Button

    Click the Reach Calculator button to get the reach from the rate.  If zones are being used, the Reach will be set to the sum of the quantities of the Zones. If postal codes are being used the Reach will be set to the sum of the quantities of the zip code circulations. If both are being used, you will be prompted to select whether to use the Reach from the zones or from the postal codes.

    Share (Select media types only)

    Enter the share (proportion of persons in the target market segment/demographic who see/hear/open/drive by the item) of the item. (Optional)

    Company

    Select a company/client from the pull-down menu. (Required)

    Division

    Select a division from the pull-down menu. (Optional)

    Department

    Select the department the Item is for from the pull-down menu. (Required)

    Program

    Select the program the item is for from the pull-down menu. (Required)

    Campaign

    Select the campaign the item is for from the pull-down menu. (Required)

    Job

    Select the job the item is for from the pull-down menu. (Required)

    Task

    Select the task the item is for from the pull-down menu. (Required)

    Event

    Select the event the item is for from the pull-down menu. (Required)

  3. Click Save.

  1. Click the Brands tab to associate an item with one or more brands.

    1. Click Add to add one or more brands.

    1. Enter the allocation percent.

      The allocation percent enables you to prorate an item to each band. For example if the total price of an item was $100 and you allocate 50% of the price to Brand 1, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing will allocate $50 of revenue to Brand 1.

  1. Click the Channels tab to associate an item with one or more channels.

  2. Click Add to add one or more channels

  3. Enter the allocation percent.

    The allocation percent enables you to pro-rate an Item to each channel. For example if the total price of an Item was $100 and you allocate 50% of the price to Channel 1, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing will allocate $50 of revenue to Channel 1.

  1. Click the Components tab to associate an item with one or more components.

  2. Click Add to add one or more components.  

  3. Enter the allocation percent.

    The allocation percent enables you to pro-rate an Item to each component. For example if the total price of an Item was $100 and you allocate 50% of the price to component 1, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing will allocate $50 of revenue to component 1.

  1. Click the Locations tab to associate an item with one or more locations.

  2. Click Add to add one or more locations.  

  3. Enter the allocation percent.

    The allocation percent enables you to pro-rate an item to each channel. For example if the total price of an item was $100 and you allocate 50% of the price to location 1, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing will allocate $50 of revenue to location 1.

  1. Click the Products tab to associate an item with one or more products/services.

  2. Click Add to add one or more products/services.

  3. Enter the allocation percent.

    The allocation percent enables you to pro-rate an Item to each channel. For example if the total price of an item was $100 and you allocate 50% of the price to Product/service 1, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing will allocate $50 of revenue to Product/service 1.

  1. Select the checkbox for the item you want to copy.

  2. Click the Copy button button.

  3. Click OK.

  1. Select the check box for the item you want to delete.

  2. Click the Copy button button .

  3. Click OK.
