Microsoft Dynamics Marketing is scheduled to be retired on May 15, 2018. After that date the service will no longer be available. Please plan accordingly. For details, see the blog post Microsoft Dynamics Marketing service will be discontinued, and learn what’s coming next.

You can view and analyze file usage in Microsoft Dynamics Marketing. You can see the details of file usage for a data range, as follows:

  • Upload, download, email, and open counts for every file.

  • Aggregated counts of uploads, downloads, emails, and opens for files tabulated by time interval.

  • Upload, download, email, and open activity for each user for each file.

To work analyze file usage, you must have Edit/View Files and/or Edit/View Libraries privileges. More information: Work with user accounts and staff contacts.

To view file usage statistics, do one of the following:

  • For an overview of all files in the system, go to Assets & Media > Files > File Usage.

  • To view usage of a specific file, open the file browser window by going to Assets & Media > Files > Files. Then find the file you want to examine, right click to open its Properties page and open the Usage related-information tab.

In each case you will see a set of usage statistics related to your file or files. Filter and search controls are provided to enable you to narrow down the view. You can choose to see or hide extra details by using the Details Show Details button toolbar button. As with most list views in Dynamics Marketing, there are also the standard buttons to show/hide statistics related to inactive files and to download the currently shown list as a Microsoft Excel file.
