Specify postal or zip codes on media orders

Certain media types (for example, inserts, newspapers, and magazines) divide their circulation by postal or zip codes to provide marketers with better segmentation opportunities. Microsoft Dynamics Marketing enables you to define and track postal and zip codes for media outlets, media rates, and orders.


Postal codes are available in the Professional and Enterprise Editions to Media Buying Option Users. Users must also have the Postal Codes User Role.

  1. On the Home tab, click Settings.

  2. In Media, click Postal Codes. Microsoft Dynamics Marketing displays all the postal codes set up in Microsoft Dynamics Marketing.

  1. Open a media outlet, media rate, insert, newspaper, or magazine media outlet.

  2. Click on the Postal/Zip Codes tab. Microsoft Dynamics Marketing displays the postal or zip codes that have been associated with the media outlet.

To specify postal codes on a media outlet, media rate, insert, newspaper, or magazine media outlet:

  1. Click the Postal Codes tab of the item.

  2. Click the Add button to add a blank row to the grid.

  3. Type in the postal code. When the information you type matches one of the postal codes on the drop-down menu, select it.

  4. Click Submit to save the information.

  1. Click the Bulk Add button.

  2. Specify your search criteria. You can include any of the information about the postal code, such as primary city, county, state or province and country/region.

  3. Select the postal codes that you want to add by clicking their check boxes.

  4. Repeat your search as needed until you have selected all the postal codes you want to add.

  5. Click Submit to save the information.
