Verify the crawl (FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint)

Applies to: FAST Search Server 2010

It is recommended that you view the crawl log to determine whether any crawl errors occurred.

  1. Verify that the user account that is performing this procedure is a service application administrator for your FAST Search Content Search Service Application.

  2. In Central Administration, in the Application Management section, click Manage service applications.

  3. On the Service Applications page, in the list of service applications, click your FAST Search Content SSA.

  4. On the Search Administration page, under Crawling, click Content Sources. Click the Refresh button to refresh the crawl status.

  5. On the Search Administration page, under Crawling, click Crawl log. After the crawl of your content source finishes, verify that a zero is listed in the Errors column. If errors occurred, the number in the Errors column will be larger than zero. In that case, click the number in the Errors column to view the crawl log for that content source.

Tip

If the crawl is running, but your crawls do not finish and you do not get results in the Crawl Log, look in the Windows Event Viewer to determine whether there is a problem. Open the Windows Event Viewer and view the log messages in Windows Logs > Application.
