Reason for asset changes (form)

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Click Fixed assets > Common > Fixed assets > Fixed assets. Select a fixed asset. On the Action Pane, click Value models. Modify one or more of the following fields: Service life, Depreciation periods, Expected scrap value, or Sales value. Press CTRL+S to save the value model.

Click Fixed assets > Common > Fixed assets > Fixed assets. Select a fixed asset. On the Action Pane, click Depreciation books. Modify one or more of the following fields: Service life, Depreciation periods, Expected scrap value, or Sales value. Press CTRL+S to save the depreciation book.

Use this form to select a reason for a change to the service life, depreciation periods, expected scrap value, or sales value for the selected value model or depreciation book.

This form is displayed when you try to save or close the modified value model or depreciation book if the Require reasons for asset changes check box is selected in the Fixed assets parameters form.

The following table provides descriptions for the controls in this form.

Reason code

Select a reason for the change to the field.

If no code is appropriate, you can right-click in this field, select View details, and create a reason code in the Asset reasons form, if you have the appropriate rights to create or modify reason codes.

Reason comment

Enter a comment about the reason (optional). If a default comment was set up for the reason code, that comment is displayed, but you can modify it.
