Click System administration > Common > Users > User profiles.

A user profile is a set of default information for a specific role in an organization, such as chief financial officer or accounting manager. User profiles determine the content that is displayed on Role Center pages.

Note

Users must be listed in the Users form before you can assign a user profile for them.

Assign users to Role Center profiles

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Overview tab

View all users who currently have a specified user profile. Press CTRL+N to add a new user.

Users

View all users who are currently assigned to the selected profile.

Buttons

View role center

View the Role Center for the selected user profile.

Import

Open a menu with the following items:

  • Import from file – Import user profiles from a file.

  • Import from AOT – Import user profiles from the Application Object Tree.

Export

Open a menu with the following items:

  • Export to file – Export user profiles to a file.

  • Export to AOT – Export user profiles to the AOT.

Add user

Add a user to the selected profile.

Bulk add users

Add multiple users to the selected profile.

Remove user

Remove a user from the selected profile. This button is available only on the Users tab.

Edit user

Edit the user profile options for the selected user. This button is available only on the Users tab.

Fields

Description

Profile ID

The name of the profile.

Description

The description of the profile.

Role center

The name of the Role Center that is assigned to the selected profile.

Default role center

Select the Role Center that is displayed for users who are not assigned to specific user profiles.

User ID

The user's identification, as listed in Active Directory.

User name

The user's name.

Companies assigned profile

The Microsoft Dynamics AX company in which the user can view the Role Center that corresponds to the selected user profile. A user can be assigned to only one profile per company.
